Haloumi and Sujuk Parcels

250gms of low salt haloumi cheese grated
150gms of Sujuck chopped into thin small strips
1tsp of Turkish capsicum paste
½ cup of fill cream ricotta
½ tsp of ground cumin
2tbs of finely chopped parsley leaves
½ tsp of salt
1 egg separated
3 sheets of puff pastry
Black sesame seeds
Lemon wedges


In a bowl combine cheeses, sujuck, capsicum paste, cumin, salt, parsley and egg yolk. Mix well and reserve. Preheat oven to 180°C. Cut puff pastry into 8 pieces. Place one heaped teaspoon into each cut pastry piece. Turn edges over and seal the edges tightly. Repeat process until all the filling is used up. Place filled pastries on a lightly greased or sprayed non-stick baking tray.

Using a pastry brush, lightly brush the tops of the pastries and sprinkle black sesame seeds. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

Serve warm with lemon wedges.
